  1. Oh, absolutely NOT. That makes me so ANGRY! It makes me want to take the day off of work just to keep them far, far away from you. But, I don't know...perhaps a hundred or so well-wishers quietly forming a human barrier between them and the service would be just as disruptive to you?

  2. I think there is a Special place in Hell for these people.

I was wondering when their ugly Head would pop up.

  3. This makes me so sick to my stomach. I wish that you an your family did not have to deal with this! There is no reason for it.

  4. These people are so out of line it is ridiculous. May they all go to hell on their judgement day.

  5. Too bad these "Christians" can't focus their energy on something positive.

  6. My family can handle anything these worthless pseudo-christians can dish out. They really aren't worth a squirt of piss, so don't get too angry. They will be dealt with under legal means only. Rest assured, they will not disrupt my sons funeral.
    Their arrogance is astounding.
They are cowards in the truest sense.

  7. Be at peace. They are not worth your anger. I (and others I am sure) will gladly stand tall and block their words from reaching you as best we can.

  8. After reading this press release I was inspired to search Michigan laws regarding protesting. I discovered the law which is linked below. In summary it states protesters must stay 500ft (football field and a half roughly) away from the funeral, procession, and burial. Protesters can be convicted of a felony should they break this law.

  9. Locals came together to block these assholes before. I have a HUGE American Flag that could be used to create some what of a barrier. They were also supposed to show up at another funeral and never showed up.

  10. Hey Beth, have you requested that the Patriot Guard Riders show up? Here's their website, in case not:

  11. Shane's funeral is on the Patriot Guard's mission list for this week. It was an honor to ride out with them this morning and escort Shane.

  12. I cannot believe that these morons would do something so heartless. And they call themselves Christians? My family and I will be attending the funeral, and we will do everything that we can to keep that negativity away from you on what is already a difficult day.

  13. I can not believe that these terrorists haven't been hurt yet. Ignorance can be fixed - Stupid is forever. Fred Phelps and his family cult are so far from Christianity that its almost laughable. God bless Shane and his family

  15. They posted an article like this for my nephew, LCpl Anthony DiLisio. I never let his sisters, brothers, or parents know about it. It's a waste of time & energy...I won't even acknowledge this church...HANG TUFF!

  17. As a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and a close friend of SSG. Ronnie Cyrus, I will be standing proudly during the funeral to ensure that this so called "respectful" protest doesn't get out of hand. I am deeply sorry for your loss, and grateful for all that your brother sacrificed. Words cannot take the hurt away, only time can heal. May God be with you in your time of need, and pain.

  18. Remember all christians are not that way. The people from that church that are protesting, are totally out of line. I lost a brother whom was a military person, during the Viet Nam era. the people were so kind at that time and us as Christans should show love not hate.
God Bless the family at this time whom has lost their love one

  19. This makes me sick not only as a Christian, but also as the wife of a brave American soldier. Rest assured that my son and I will be there tomorrow to stand in honor of Shane and wave our American flags high and proud to block out this imbeciles. I'm sorry for your loss, but we are appreciative of his sacrifice.

  20. They are coming to a Soldiers funeral to protest only to get publicity. If everybody ignores them...pays them no attention at all, they will have come in vain. Let them speak the devils words. If nobody is listening, then they lose. Keep walking and don't even give them a glance. They would like nothing more than to start an arguement or a confrontation. Do not let them win. We are stronger then they are. Walk Away....They Lose.

  21. I'm grateful to see and hear all of the support for our troops. All those that serve are my heroes. It is unfortunate the Vietnam Vets got treated like a bunch of common criminals. We have certainly learned from our mistakes. For this young soldier - he is truly home.

    Semper Fi Shane !

  23. These people are despicable and should't call themselves Christians. The Baptists need to stand up and protect the innocent from this evil. Check out this blog by Dr. Laura - she presents a challenge to the Baptists to DO something against the Phelps family.
